The Zanana Akande “Welcome to Blackhurst” Art Gallery provides an opportunity for professional and new/emerging visual artists to showcase their work in a community-based setting. It also provides a gateway for artists to present their curatorial work of contemporary Canadian artists, and to explore themes of identity, race, and social commentary.
The gallery informs the public of the visual artists in our midst while bringing to attention the changes in the art world including new technologies and mixed media. Exhibitions range from two weeks to three months depending on the curator.
Monday – Saturday; 11:00am – 6:00pm.
Cost: Space Rental. Admission: Free to the public
